Hi, My name is Eleonora Svanberg, and I've recently been admitted to pursue my dream of obtaining a PhD (DPhil) in mathematical physics at the University of Oxford. I've been lucky to receive total funding. However, that does not cover the visa cost, estimated to be a total of £4370 — a significant amount I'm sad that the UK forces us students to pay. I'm excited to join my PhD, but not excited about the added financial stress. I would therefore kindly ask for any help to cover this cost, as any sum, big or small, would be very appreciated. I feel a bit embarrassed asking for this, I haven't done anything similar before, but I thought it was a good idea to try. Some of my background: I'm a half-Swedish and half-Persian content creator, writer, founder, speaker, advocate and theoretical physicist. I did my master's at the University of Cambridge, and my bachelor's at Stockholm University. About my research: I'm researching the most fundamental nature of humanity: the pursuit of new knowledge. I'm pushing the boundary of what we already know about the universe, which takes me to quantum gravity, string theory and the relation number theory and physics, otherwise overseen (until Andrew Wiles proved Fermat's Last Theorem). I'm very excited to join my research group, as it's one of the best in the world. My supervisor is fantastic and I'm sure I'll enjoy my time fully.
